Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using Ten Minute Resume ("Service", "we", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use our Service.

Service Description

Free Service

Our current free service includes:

• Access to resume builder tools and templates
• Client-side resume creation and editing
• Local browser storage of your resume data
• PDF export functionality
• Keyword helper tool

Future Premium Features

If we introduce premium features:

• The core free service will remain available
• Premium features will require account creation
• Your resume data may be stored on our secure servers
• Clear pricing will be displayed before purchase
• You can opt-in or continue using the free version
• Subscription terms will be clearly communicated

User Accounts (Future Premium)

For future premium features that require accounts:

• You must provide accurate and complete information
• You are responsible for maintaining account security
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• One person or entity may not maintain multiple accounts
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

Data Storage and Ownership

Your Content Ownership

You retain full ownership of all resume content you create using our Service. We claim no intellectual property rights over the content you provide.

Current Free Service

Your resume data is stored locally in your browser. We do not have access to this data. You are responsible for:

• Backing up your resume data by exporting PDFs
• Understanding that clearing browser data will delete your resume
• Not relying solely on browser storage for important documents

Future Cloud Storage

If you opt for future premium features with cloud storage:

• We will store your resume data on secure servers to provide cloud sync, multi-device access, and advanced features
• Your data will be encrypted and protected
• You can export and delete your data at any time
• We will use your data only to provide the Service
• We will not sell or share your resume content
• Regular backups will be maintained for data recovery

License to Operate

By using premium cloud features, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store and process your resume data to provide the Service
• Create backups for disaster recovery
• Use anonymized, aggregated data for service improvement

This license ends when you delete your content or close your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Upload malicious code or attempt to compromise our systems
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Reverse engineer or copy our software or templates
• Use automated systems to scrape or download content in bulk
• Create false or misleading resumes with intent to defraud
• Resell or redistribute our templates or service
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Payment Terms (Future Premium)

If we introduce paid features:

• Pricing will be clearly displayed before purchase
• Payments are processed through secure third-party processors
• Subscriptions may be monthly or annual
• You can cancel subscriptions at any time
• Refunds are handled according to our refund policy
• We reserve the right to change pricing with advance notice
• Existing subscribers maintain their rate for the billing period
• Failed payments may result in service suspension

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Ten Minute Resume and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

This includes:

• Website design and code
• Resume templates and layouts
• Logos and branding
• Documentation and tutorials

You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of our Service without permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Guarantees of job placement or interview success
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Guarantees of ATS compatibility with all systems

We do not guarantee that using our Service will result in job offers or interviews. Resume success depends on many factors beyond our control.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ten Minute Resume shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from:

• Your use or inability to use the Service
• Loss of data, including resume content
• Unauthorized access to your data
• Third-party conduct or content on the Service
• Any employment or hiring decisions

Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, or $100, whichever is greater.

Service Changes and Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue the Service with or without notice
• Introduce new features, including paid features
• Change these Terms with advance notice
• Suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• Refuse service to anyone for any reason

If you use premium features in the future, you may terminate your account at any time. Upon termination:

• You will retain the ability to export your data
• Your data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy
• No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ten Minute Resume and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Content you submit through the Service

Third-Party Links and Services

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Ten Minute Resume. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ten Minute Resume operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes:

• We will notify you by email (for premium users) or prominent notice on our website
• The "Last updated" date will be revised
• You will have the opportunity to review changes before they take effect
• Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms

Important: Before introducing paid features that require server storage, we will provide clear notice and obtain your explicit consent.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
